Free Talk Session on ASC Certified Snapper at Miyazaki University

On Wednesday, August 6, a free talk session was held at the multi-purpose space in the University of Miyazaki Co-op cafeteria on the theme of ASC certified "shirara sea bream.
The invited speakers were Mr. Takuma Kinoshita, Director and Senior Managing Director of Kinoshita Suisan, and Ms. Naomi Kawada of ASC Japan, who joined our representative, Mr. Tsukiji, for the talk.

The session introduced the background behind the acquisition of ASC certification, the environmental and regional considerations based on its standards, and the company's efforts to deliver seafood products that consumers can choose with confidence. Kinoshita Suisan practices the standards of ASC certification on a daily basis, including thorough management of feed and water quality at the aquaculture farm, as well as resource conservation activities in cooperation with local fishermen.

In addition, a quiz on ASC certification and aquaculture was conducted as a student-participatory program, providing an opportunity to deepen their understanding. In addition, participants actually experienced the quality of certified marine products by tasting nigirizushi made with ASC-certified sea bream, "shirara sea bream.

We hope that this session provided a valuable opportunity for students to learn more about the local aquaculture industry and ASC certification. We will continue to work with educational institutions and the community to promote responsible aquaculture seafood.
