Who is Shimerura?

Shimaura is a remote island where about 900 people live. This small island with a circumference of 15 km, located off the coast of Nobeoka in the northern part of Miyazaki Prefecture, has long had a thriving fishing industry and is called "the island where sardines dance.
Surrounded by a rias coastline, the beautiful sea offshore is home to giant corals and table corals.

Sandwiched between the Bungo Channel and the Hyuga Sea, the rapid tidal currents make it one of the best fishing grounds. The undulating topography produces fish that are moderately fat and firm.

New Challenges

In Shimaura, the successor generation of the fishing and aquaculture industry is taking on new challenges one after another. Takuma Kinoshita, the third-generation successor to produce Shimaura sea bream, is one such person.
We aim to always deliver our products in the best condition by changing the place where they are raised and their food mix according to their growth.



しまうら真鯛 生け簀 We also frequently maintain the marine fish tank to ensure that the seawater always flows well, so that the fish receive proper oxygen, and healthy sea bream grow up in a healthy condition even without any chemicals. We are always careful to provide an optimal environment for the fish.




The rough waves of the Pacific Ocean have given the sea bream a beautiful appearance and a firm body.
The clear, unctuous flesh and elasticity of the fish are the result of careful and wholehearted care in raising it.
